Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Committees

The Quality Committee promotes high-quality, safe, and patient-centered neurological care by overseeing the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­’s quality framework of evidence-based guidelines, quality measures, and informatics resources. The Quality Committee’s oversight includes: developing, disseminating, and implementing evidence-based documents; developing quality measures based on the evidence; and optimizing health information technology to improve neurologic care. The Quality Committee leverages these products and services to facilitate quality improvement, patient safety, and shared decision-making in neurological practice and to improve the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­’s Quality programs.

Job description

Committee responsibilities

  • Direct and approve the work of the Guidelines Subcommittee, Quality Measures Subcommittee, and Quality Informatics Subcommittee.
  • Advance patient safety, patient engagement, shared decision-making, and quality improvement by providing meaningful quality improvement tools to engage neurologists to use quality data to improve their practice.
  • Develop and implement education to support members in the delivery of high-quality care.
  • Support the integration of a quality and safety culture into neurological care provided in all settings.

Member responsibilities

  • Contribute to the evolution and excellence of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­’s guidelines, measures, and informatics tools.
  • Attend two face-to-face meetings each year and attend interim virtual meetings.
  • Participate in committee listserv discussions and check and respond to emails in a timely manner.
  • Vote on committee motions during meetings and via email communications.
  • Serve as liaison to other committees, subcommittees, or external organizations.
  • Copy Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ staff on all committee-related correspondence.

Estimated time commitment

Five hours per month and two face-to-face meetings per year.

Selection/appointment

Committee members are appointed by the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ President-Elect.
