The Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» President appoints task forces to address timely issues impacting the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» and neurology. Task forces often provide a range of recommendations in their reports. The Board of Directors approves the report, and the process of determining which recommendations will be implemented moves on to Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» committees and staff leadership.
In 2016, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» President Terrence L. Cascino, MD, FÂ鶹´«Ã½Ó³» appointed the Gender Disparity Task Force to study issues related to the disparities between female and male neurologists including compensation, professional advancement, leadership opportunities, and work/life balance. The task force presented recommendations to the Board of Directors in February 2017 for strategies to improve the identified disparities.
