Assists the Board of Directors with board development and education, board engagement, strategic board recruitment (identifying competencies and selection criteria for candidates), and organizational governance assessment. In addition, the Governance Committee reviews the Academy's bylaws and recommends appropriate amendments to the Board of Directors.

The members on the Governance Committee are appointed by the President.

The Governance Committee meets approximately once per quarter.
