The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ (Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­), the world’s largest association of neurologists and neuroscience professionals, with 44,000+ members, welcomes press participation at the 2026 Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting in Chicago, April 18-22. The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Media and Public Relations team serves print, broadcast, and online journalists from around the world during the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting. The following policies are in effect to help facilitate news coverage of scientific abstracts to be presented by researchers.

Who can register as press for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting?

Press registration is available only to working journalists and writers, who must show the appropriate credentials and prove their attendance will result in news coverage of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting. This includes any reporter, writer, producer, or editor with required credentials from a print, online, or broadcast news organization, including freelance journalists. Registered press will be given access to the science being presented, both in person and online, as well as to the facilities, materials, and space in the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Press Room in Chicago.

Who cannot register as press for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting?

  • Representatives from industry, marketing and public relations firms, financial analyst firms, data analytics firms, advertising agencies, and medical communications companies are not allowed to register as press or enter the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting Press Room.
  • Writers attending the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting for the sole purpose of packaging content for profit and/or continuing medical education (CME) opportunities, research studies, and textbooks will not be registered as press.
  • Exhibitors may not register for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting Press Room.

How do press register?

All press must register in advance of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting by completing the registration form and providing the appropriate credentials requested.

  • For the login page:
    • Previous press registrants, please enter your email address to log in to your non-member account. You may need to update your password.
      • Once logged in, you will be able to access the registration form.
      • If your email address has changed, please email media@aan.com and we will update your account.
    • New press registrants, please create a non-member account to access the registration form.

The press registration deadline is 3:00 p.m. ET, Friday, April 10, 2026.

  • This deadline is for press who wish to attend either the in-person meeting in Chicago or online.
  • Registration by this date is required to ensure access to the science on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Conferences app as soon as the meeting begins.
  • Any member of the press who requests to register after that date will not be guaranteed access.

What are the appropriate credentials?

Journalists must include the following credentials for review by Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ staff:

  • A business card or link to a staff bio page on a publication's website that clearly shows press affiliation (a print, online, or broadcast news organization) and position (editor, writer, producer, reporter, videographer). If a business card is used to register, an additional form of identification may be requested.
  • Letter of assignment on official company letterhead from an editor of a recognized news organization or a producer of a broadcast program certifying that you are covering the conference for the respective news organization.
  • At least two published bylined samples of editorial and/or news work, specifically articles relating to brain health.
  • Published bylined samples of coverage from the previous year’s Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting (if applicable).

Press badges are available only to working journalists who can show evidence that their attendance will result in coverage of the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting.

Can I register during the meeting?

Pre-registration is required by 3:00 p.m. ET, Friday, April 10, 2026. This deadline is to ensure access to the science on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Conferences app as soon as the meeting begins.

Press who attempt to register on site for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Press Room will be directed to Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting Registration to pay to attend the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting at a nonmember rate and without press credentials.

What is required for international press registration?

Pre-registration is required for US and non-US press who wish to attend the meeting in person or online by 3:00 p.m. ET on Friday, April 10, 2026. This ensures access to the science on the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Conferences app as soon as the meeting begins.

Press who attempt to register on-site for the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Press Room will be directed to Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Annual Meeting Registration and pay to attend the Annual Meeting at the nonmember rate without press credentials.

How many press can register?

The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³»­ reserves the right to limit the number of press registrations per organization. The initial parameters are:

  • A maximum of two (2) writers and/or reporters and one (1) photographer from any newspaper, magazine, newsletter, or other regularly issued general interest or health/science publication.
  • A maximum of four (4) persons from a television network.
