This award is designed to recognize a private practitioner's outstanding service to the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³». The Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» recognizes the unique value that private practitioners bring to the Academy, while also noting that extensive volunteerism often requires sacrificing compensation, family, and/or vacation time.

- Notifications sent: By end of January 2026
Benefits
The winner will receive an honorary plaque and recognition at the Annual Meeting and in Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» member publications.
Eligibility
This award honors a practitioner working in a private practice setting. Applicants must be Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» members in good standing.
Applicants must attest that they meet the Âé¶¹´«Ã½Ó³» definition of private practice, which is considered a "practice in which the physician(s) own a contractual, controlling, or substantial financial interest in the practice's success or failure."
Application procedure
Whether self-nominating or nominating someone else, each application should include:
- The completed application form, which includes a statement of interest (500-word limit).
- A current curriculum vitae.
