The participant should become familiar with the various obstacles that prevent the patient from accepting the diagnosis of PNES and the recommendation to seek psychiatric treatment; better understand the role of the neurologist in the overall management of patients with PNES, following the establishment of the diagnosis; discover the type of treatments that can be effective in management of PNES; become aware of the type of communication neurologists and mental health professionals must have on an ongoing bases to ensure an optimal treatment of PNES; and discover the first therapeutic interventions that neurologists must make even before the psychiatric treatment is started.
