Child Neurology and Developmental Neurology
Participants will learn about three different conditions, with attention to genetic correlations to these conditions; the concept of genetic heterogeneity, including challenges of deciding when to order genetic studies, which correct studies, and how to interpret results; better understand how to counsel families with these conditions; learn about early intervention strategies, informed family planning, and newer diagnostic options; and become familiar with novel clinical dilemmas introduced by widespread genetic testing, including newborn screening and next generation sequencing.
