Research Methodology, Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³», and History
P4 - Poster Session 4 (5:30 PM-6:30 PM)
6-004

To assess the feasibility, usability, audience, and effectiveness of NeuroBytes, an asynchronous e-Learning program.

In an effort to offer continuing professional development (CPD) updates to a wide range of professionals, the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³» launched NeuroBytes– bite-sized videos that provide topic-specific updates.

NeuroBytes was beta tested August–December 2018 and launched for pilot circulation January–April 2019. Usage was assessed by course enrollment and completion rates; feasibility by cost and time required per module; appeal by user satisfaction scores; effectiveness by self-reported change in practice.

A total of 5,130 member enrollments (1,026+551/month) occurred from January 11–May 28, 2019 with a median of 588 enrollments per module (range, 194-922) and 37% course completion. The majority of viewers included neurologists (54%) and junior neurologists (26%). NeuroBytes took 59 hours to develop ($77.94/hour). 82% of users were “extremely” or “very” likely to recommend NeuroBytes, 60% agreed that the depth of content was “just right,” and 29% responded NeuroBytes would change how they managed many of their patients.

NeuroBytes is a user-friendly CPD product that delivers updates to a broad range of learners. Complementary programs are needed to change practice patterns and future efforts will integrate NeuroBytes into the spectrum of CPD programs.
