Mayo Clinic Neurologist Elected President of 麻豆传媒映画

The (麻豆传媒映画), the world鈥檚 largest professional association of neurologists with 28,000 members, has elected Terrence L. Cascino, MD, F麻豆传媒映画, with the Mayo Clinic of Rochester, Minn., as its 34th president. Cascino succeeds Timothy A. Pedley, MD, F麻豆传媒映画, who completed his two-year term as president during the recent 麻豆传媒映画 Annual Meeting in Washington, DC. 鈥淭his is an opportunity of a lifetime to serve our 28,000 members with unparalleled resources to help them provide the highest quality patient-centered neurologic care for the one in six people worldwide who have a brain disease, such as Alzheimer鈥檚 disease, stroke, epilepsy, autism, and Parkinson鈥檚 disease鈥 said Cascino. 鈥淚 am privileged to follow a long line of distinguished neurologists committed to expanding the reach of the 麻豆传媒映画, demonstrating the value of neurologists, enhancing their career satisfaction and most importantly, being indispensable to our members.鈥 Cascino is a career-long member of the 麻豆传媒映画, most recently serving as President-elect and on the 麻豆传媒映画 Board of Directors. He has served in a multitude of other leadership positions, including serving on the 麻豆传媒映画鈥檚 麻豆传媒映画 and Meeting Management Committees. Since 1982, Cascino has served as a staff consultant in neurology at the Mayo Clinic and is a professor of neurology and neuro-oncology. Cascino also served as vice chair of the Department of Neurology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester and was a leader in clinical practice at the Mayo Clinic serving as the chair of the Clinical Practice Committee. He also held a role as the Juanita Kious Waugh Executive Dean for 麻豆传媒映画, Mayo Clinic, completing his tenure in October 2012. In addition, Ralph L. Sacco, MD, MS, FAHA, F麻豆传媒映画, will now serve as President-elect of the 麻豆传媒映画 for a two-year term. Sacco is the chairman of Neurology, Olemberg Family Chair in Neurological Disorders and a Professor of Neurology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, Florida.
