Participants should be better able to: correctly apply criteria for the clinical diagnosis and differential diagnosis of chronic migraine and episodic migraine using diagnostic algorithms; identify strategies for the optimal acute treatment of migraine; understand the scope, burden, and distribution of chronic migraine in the population as well as the risk factors that predispose to it; distinguish current patterns in the diagnosis and treatment of chronic migraine and episodic migraine, and the substantial unmet medical need for this condition; describe emerging insights into the pathophysiology of chronic migraine; identify common comorbidities in patients with chronic migraine; and implement evidence-based strategies for chronic migraine management.
