Participants should be able to implement a practical and efficient approach to the diagnosis and management of common neurobehavioral syndromes that accompany dementia, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and other disorders. Participants should: develop history-taking, cognitive examination, and neurobehavioral assessment skills; learn guidelines for conducting a formal neurobehavioral assessment, including related coding and billing issues; apply appropriate laboratory and imaging studies in a logical and cost-effective manner; and develop an integrative approach for incorporating evidence-based and empirical data into a comprehensive treatment plan that utilizes available community and allied health resources.
