In this session, a panel made up of Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ members and staff will discuss the conception, development and implementation of the Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­'s new online Anti-racism Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ Program—a program designed by neurologists, for neurologists. Moderated by Dr. Jeff McClean, Chair of the IDEAS Subcommittee, the panel will provide an opportunity for Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ members to learn about how to best utilize the program and how to integrate Anti-racism in their personal lives, clinical practices and health systems. The Anti-racism Â鶹´«Ã½Ó³»­ program consists of four modules that address the role of race in our society, the history of racism and its negative effects on our colleagues, the impact of racism in patient care, and strategies to confront the racism that is embedded within our institutions. This panel will give an overview of the process used to develop this specialized training, discuss challenges they faced and provide insights into their approach. The session will end with a discussion about next steps and why IDEAS trainings that are specific to Neurology are essential.
