to describe demographics , risk factors, radiologic findings, laboratory markers of CVST

Cerebral Venous Sinus Thrombosis(CVST) is one of the devastating neurologic disease which its prognosis varies from complete recovery to death. In despite of all the effort focused on the treatment of this disease, there are still some patients who have not return to their normal life, therefore importance of prevention of this disease by knowing its risk factor has been demonstrated. This study aimed to asses the influence of each potential risk factor on the incidence of CVST.

The study was designed retrospectively by enrolling of 142 patients were whom with diagnosis of CVST which has confirmed by MRI and magnetic resonance venography during 10 years of study. data collected and analyzed to assess how much influence each parameter can have on the occurrence of CVST.

Information of total 142 individuals diagnosed with CVST admitted to hospital from 2007 through 2018 were obtained. the majority of our patients were female with female to male ratio of 2.15 , with the mean age of 38.14 ±13.7. The most frequent clinical features were Headache and blurred vision .Head Trauma history prior to diagnosis of CVST was found in 4% of patients , Deep vein thrombosis was the most common underlying disease(7 patients). A total of 51 of 98 women used OCP within 6 months. In 22% of patients History of recent fasting during Ramadan were detect. The most common site of thrombosis was solely transverse sinuses (41%) followed by transverse and Superior sogittal obstruction together(16%). data of serum levels of proteinC, S and anti-thrombin III, FactorVLeiden , Antiphospholipid and Anti-cardiolipin antibodies were collected , factor v Leiden was revealed to be the highest in prevalence(12.6%) in comparison with the others.

determining risk factors and clinical features is essential for developing preventive, diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.
